pferd des gaertners is a band located in Munich/Germany, playing some sort of punk rock.

pferd des gaertners' music has it's roots in the early 80ies post punk stlye, as played by e.g. Joy Division and Bauhaus. Additionally, the band incorporates influences from US guitar bands such as Hüsker Dü, from newer german punk bands (e.g. Boxhamsters, Fliehende Stürme, Turbostaat, ...) as well as some minor hardcore influences. One of the main characteristics of the band's sound surely is the deep and unagitated voice of singer Peter.

About half of the band's lyrics are sung in german, half is english. The lyrics are quite an important part of the band's overall appearance. Some of them are sort of political, but not in the way you might be used to from other punk bands - the deal more with the band's hard-to-understand metaphorical language than with the usual paroles.

The band prefers a simple and sober style of artwork and presentation.
